Digital platforms, including social media, undeniably enhance our connectivity, often surpassing in-person interactions. On these platforms, instant communication and glimpses into daily lives, for example viewing what others are eating or doing, transcend physical constraints. We are getting detailed updates on our friends, family, and celebrities on social platforms. Distance disappears under the influence of social media. Despite this heightened connectivity, our generation grapples with profound loneliness. Interactions on digital platforms, though seemingly robust, are fundamentally based on binary code – a potentially fragile foundation. Are these digital connections truly serving our societal needs, and is this the depth of interaction we genuinely desire? This interactive installation invites contemplation on its subject matter. As observers engage with the installation, they witness the reflection of codes and images on the faces of participants opposite them. This pivotal moment underscores the notion that every image, video, and interaction encountered in the digital realm is essentially crafted by intricate codes and algorithms. The tunnel's structure and how participants peer into it serve as poignant symbols, highlighting the inherent limitation of our perspectives on digital platforms—revealing a narrow vantage point that shapes our understanding of the digital landscape.
