Different lighting phenomena, such as crystals, rainbows, and the aurora borealis, bring people together through the beauty of these natural occurrences. More specifically, the aurora borealis is said to be the spirits of the dead that live in the sky away from their loved ones. My lighting installation creates an effect that helps bridge human connections in proximity. The Aurora is a shared experience, creating a space where people can view the strings of color from different angles and perspectives. From seeing the crystals at eye level or sitting against the white backdrop with the projection, there is a scene that aims to initiate interaction with people and promote proximity through light.
