From the outside this project has an honest quality. The wires above are visible through a mesh cage and the main form, a commercial galvanized steel duct, is suspended by the lights themselves with two simple knots. Once you peer inside, however, the candor falls away and an illusion is created. The lights continue within the duct and while one viewer's vision is imbued by a single color the face of the other viewer is aglow in another. The darkness between the two contrasting lights shortens the space in the duct and brings the two viewers closer together for a more absorbing and intimate experience.
