Within our current reality of the pandemic, depression, anxiety, and loss seem to be feelings that are consistently being revisited through the past year, as change and a lack of stability have become a strong constant. With no roots to ground us and a lack of clarity as to what the future contains, we stay suspended in the now. The Phantom Luminescense intends on drawing the viewer into an experience that visualizes the experience of loss and recovery through an individual's lens and emphasizes its cyclical nature. Within it lies the idea that our reality is simply a distortion of the senses, revealing the fragility and suggestibility of the human brain, as it attempts to organize and interpret sensory stimulation through an augmented reality.
