Inspired by Ancient Indian architecture techniques and new elements that were brought in to modernize Indian cities, "Aloka" is a large scale, ceiling mounted, wooden frame which replicates "jali" (net) patterns using spiral paper pieces and rice paper to create warm natural lighting, opening up space and creating a semblance of airiness in a dimly lit area.
