Sanctuary is a lighting exploration of architectural artifacts from a bygone era. The piece utilizes amber corrugated chicken wire glass-a material out of production since the 1960s-to diffuse an intense, oscillating light source. This specific glass was famously used by Frank Lloyd Wright in the Beth Sholom Synagogue, where its sinusoidal geometry and wire reinforcement provided the structural integrity required to illuminate a sacred space from all sides. Inspired by the way Wright's glass roof transformed exterior light into a soft, immersive glow, this design repurposes the material's uneven texture to project entropic patterns onto the surface below. As the light source slowly moves, it mimics the natural rhythm of the sun passing over a glass spire, inviting the viewer into a meditative, moving sanctuary.
