Light Dragon is a sculptural lantern inspired by Yeon Deung Hoe (Lotus Lantern Festival), a traditional festival in South Korea that has been celebrated for over a 1000 years. The Light Dragon takes the rich history and cultural significance of dragons in Korean and Buddhist folklore and recontextualizes it in a futurist setting with it sporting a disntictly abstract grafitti design. The interactive lantern serves to provide joy, wonder and hope to the viewer as we look toward a brighter future.
