Amber is a contemporary lighting object inspired by the warm, atmospheric glow of candlelight. Before electric lighting, candlelight created intimate environments through its soft amber tone. This project reinterprets that quality using modern materials and fabrication methods. The form was developed by sculpting a core and layering tinted epoxy to create a translucent shell of glowing amber. When illuminated, the material captures, refracts, and diffuses the internal LED light, producing a warm radiance that appears embedded within the object itself. Rather than functioning as a traditional lampshade, Amber allows the material itself to shape and soften the light, creating an organic form that feels as though a flame has been suspended inside a piece of glowing amber.
