"Epiphany" is a light piece that works to show the beauty in merging opposites. By blending the handcrafted with the manufactured, and the natural with the processed, it challenged our modern tendency to separate the two. The tension between human craftsmanship and industrial machinery isn't new, but it has only enhanced in the age of AI and "Epiphany" was born to reclaim that divide. The visible plastic center represents the glamorized yet cold manufactured exterior we often present to the world, how we perceive others at first glance. The natural terracotta clay is deliberately hidden, representing the intricate warmth and history concealed within us and its casted shadows are the only visible proof of its existence. While the two materials may clash in production, when two opposites merge fascinating things can happen. For while the old offers predictability the new offers possibilities.
