This light fixture's design draws inspiration from one of nature's most fascinating and awe-inspiring processes: the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly. Our approach to lighting design takes advantage of recent advancements in additive manufacturing technology. This approach has expanded the possibilities for lighting design by maximizing the potential of a single source of light. The use of additive manufacturing technology allows us to create reflectors and diffusers in one material, providing both ambient and task lighting with a single light source to mimic the natural changes in light throughout the day. Furthermore, the circular shape of the light fixture represents the cyclical nature of life, reminding us that growth and transformation are ongoing processes that we will continue to experience throughout our lives.
