For centuries, people have been captivated by the celestial spectacle of a total solar eclipse, which occurs when the moon moves between Earth and the sun, casting a shadow over our planet. Inspired by this phenomenon, my installation seeks to recreate the interplay of changing patterns, shifting phases, and the contrast between light and shadow. Within a matte acrylic box, a round light source represents the sun, while a pendulum structure mimics the shape and movement of the moon. Each swing of the pendulum marks an eclipse season as the black circular piece representing the moon partially or fully blocks the light of the sun, revealing different phases of a solar eclipse.
