As a New Yorker, I've spent half of my life inside the subway, constantly going to and back from school for 3-4 hours per day. I realized the subway became part of my life. People like me go to work or school everyday and have no time for themselves, but the subway forces you to be with yourself. The nyc subway became a place where I can be alone, be with myself, and gaze at people to see what they're doing and what they are thinking inside their own little world. So, I created this lighting effect as a tribute or a celebration to the nyc subway. A place where millions of people travel everyday but also a place where people can be alone and be with themselves. This lighting effect was built sort of like theatre. We have the front stage, where everything is happening, and then we have the backstage in which all the lighting effects and visual support is happening to create the story.
