Society has made it the new normal to prejudge people by their appearances and create stereotypes. The saying “don't judge a book by its cover”, has gotten its name through these prejudgments society’s created. But, if you look further into a person and create a connection you will begin to understand the person and the beauty within. People do go beyond the surface and should be acknowledged for their inner light. The lighting effect is meant to put a perspective to society's narrative on stereotyping and prejudgment. The black box is meant to be hidden in the dark, but its interior outshine and is cast out of the box, in order to intrigue the audience and make them want to take a closer look. You only see a little of its potential before you interact with it, open the lid and let its inner beauty shine. The projection is bright and colorful in order to show how complex a person actually is along with the immense amount of layers a person has and completely disregarding their outward appearance shown through the box. This interactive piece is meant to awaken society by taking a closer look into a person before prejudging their character and beauty within a person.
