For this lighting environment, I wanted to create the effect of a monochromatic thriller that engages the audience in the concept of shredding light. The story is set in a gloomy basement filled with musty air and the pungent smell of cigarettes. A group of people is planning on a national-secret conspiracy. After a short but intense debate, their paper documents are finally to be destroyed and fed into the shredder. The air froze, as everyone silently watched the shadow of the paper strips slowly crept down like snakes. Their hanging hearts are finally settled—they would never speak of this again.
