My goal was to create a modern interpretation of something old or natural. We as humans have an inherent psychological need for interaction with natural elements. I thought of a fire and lanterns and how fire is a natural "light" that is something we don't really use as a light anymore. I made this LED panel-based digital fire lantern with a very raw industrial aesthetic. It flickers and moves like a fire providing that old natural vulnerable visual warmth and sensibility of light from fire. But its more reliable and less hazardous.
